STRAIGHT ANSWERS
Questions before launch?
If your question is not covered here, send us a support request with the details.
Visit supportDoes ClaimCheck require Shopify POS?
ClaimCheck is designed around Shopify POS for counter workflows and includes a Shopify Admin ticket board. Merchants need a compatible Shopify store and Shopify POS setup to use the intended workflow.
Do I need to start a sale to create a ticket?
No. Staff can create a service ticket without a sale. A deposit is optional and uses a linked Shopify POS order when taken.
Is a Shopify customer required?
No. A ticket can be created without a customer. Staff can attach an existing Shopify customer during intake, and Admin users can attach, replace, or remove the customer later.
How many items can a ticket contain?
One. Each ticket has one free-text item description, plus service type, notes, and an optional due date. Multi-item tickets are not currently supported.
Which statuses are available?
ClaimCheck uses four fixed statuses: Intake, In progress, Ready for pickup, and Completed. They are not configurable.
How do deposits and balance payments work?
Staff can add one optional service-deposit line to the Shopify POS cart. After checkout, ClaimCheck links that order and records the deposit amount. A separate later flow can add one balance-payment order and update amount paid and remaining. This is payment progress—not invoicing, refund handling, estimating, or accounting.
Does ClaimCheck work across locations?
ClaimCheck provides basic location-aware workflows. Tickets retain their Shopify location, the Admin board can filter by location, and ticket numbering remains shop-wide.
Does ClaimCheck notify customers by email or text?
No. ClaimCheck does not currently send email or SMS notifications and does not provide a public customer status page.
Where are tickets stored?
Your ticket data is kept on Shopify in metaobjects.
What does ClaimCheck cost?
ClaimCheck is $19 per month with a 7-day free trial, managed through Shopify. Development and Shopify Partner stores are always free.
